A note from our founder
I started Traction in 2016 after working at PwC and then leading finance inside a startup. I had seen how finance worked in large companies and how it worked in scrappy, fast-growing businesses. I kept coming back to the same thought: finance sits at the crossroads of the entire business, yet the solutions available to founders and operators often felt limited and misaligned. They deserved better. I started this business to bring a more thoughtful, elevated approach to how finance operates in growing companies.
What began as an accounting firm has evolved quite a bit over the last 10 years. Today, what we do goes well beyond accounting or advisory. This business isn’t here just to do good work or give sound advice. It’s an extension of who I am and what I care about. At the core of that is a simple idea:
I want us to make lasting differences for the people around us.
That belief shapes how I think about everything and how we operate as a firm. It not only informs how we show up for our clients, but also for each other, our friends and family, and our community. It drives the people we hire, the clients we choose to partner with, and how we work. We care deeply about the relationships we build and about working with leaders who are open, thoughtful, and want to do things the right way. We bring the experience and capability to solve complex problems across finance, but the goal is never just to complete the work. We do the work with the intent of leaving people and teams in a better place, with more alignment, more ease, and more energy. The work matters, but the impact it has on the people behind it matters more.
If you decide to work with us, you’ll see it pretty quickly. It shows up in how we listen, how we think, and how we approach problems. Over time, the impact builds and extends far beyond finance, into the business, the people in it, and the people around them. I’m proud of what we’ve built, and we’re just getting started. If this resonates, I’d love for you to get to know us.
